Poulnabrone Dolmen Silhouetted against sunset. The thin capstone sits on two 1.8 metre 6 feet high portal stones. These stones created a chamber within which the dead were placed. The people buried here were Neolithic farmers. Radiocarbon dates the bones found here from between 3800 to 3200 B.C. .
