Nehaj fortresbuilt in 1558 by the military Captain of Senj Ivan Lenkovic the fortress was the stronghold of the Uskok corsairs who defied their countrys Ottoman invaders raiding them on land and sea throughout the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Today the fortress is a museum displaying their history castles
