Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time: get ourselves up to the top of Norway and then drive the length of Europe, from north to south, in my ten-year-old Land Rover Discovery. Given that the 'Cape to Cape' idea was already pretty established, with hardy souls covering the distance in hours not days, we thought that we would make it a bit more interesting by visiting the most westerly points (or as near as we could drive to them) of each country we travelled through.
